You can find them either pre-cooked and oiled, or you can find fresh lo mein egg noodles that need to be boiled beforehand.

- Take 1 packet thick Hokkien Noodles (440g)
- Get 1 tp corn starch + 1 - 2 tbsp water

- Prepare 1 tsp chicken cube or chicken powder seasoning (to taste)

- Prepare 1 . Some people use animal fat like lard or beef dripping to cook this noodle
- Get 2 . Marinara mix can be used in placed of fish balls/fish cakes
Add the garlic and stir-fry for half a minute. Now add in the prawns and stir-fry for another minute. Udon Noodles are thick, white Japanese noodles. They can be eaten cold or hot.
Instructions to make Hokkien Noodles:
- There are variations of hokkien noodle. Choose the thick one. Soak noodles in boiling water to soften. Drain and set aside. Since i don’t take pork or lard, i use other type of animal fat. Below is a picture of animal fat i use at home.
- Heat wok. Pour in oil (or lard if using). Add garlic then meat slices, cook for 2 to 3 mins.
- In separate bowl, mix all the sauces- cooking caramel (if using), dark soy sauce, sesame oil, ground pepper. Pour this mixture into the wok. Add water, sugar and chicken cube (if needed). Stir. Then add noodle and cut green vegies of your choice. Next Add corn starch mixture. Let it simmer again till gravy thickens. Adjust taste to your liking. If using lard, add another spoon of lard to the noodle at this stage. Stir and remove from the heat.
- Serve hot.
Udon Noodles are thick, white Japanese noodles. They can be eaten cold or hot. Udon Noodles are often served in a mild fish broth, flavored with soy sauce and mirin (sweetened sake) and topped with thinly sliced scallions. Heat the vegetable oil in a wok over high heat. Add the shrimp paste and stir-fry until just dissolved.
