- Heat the Oil in a Large Kadai(The puffed rice occupies more space than beaten rice)
- When the oil heats up add Mustard and Jeera and allow it to to crackle.Add the Urad Dal, Channa Dal, Curry Leaves and Peanuts and fry till they are brown
- Add the Chooped Onions and Ginger Garlic Paste and Saute till the Onions are translucent.Now Add the Green Chillies and Tomatoes and fry till brown.Add the Turmeric Powder and Salt and stir well.
- In the meanwhile wash the puffed rice thoroughly(Try is it doesnt turn to paste) preferably in running water.Squeeze out the excess water and leave it to dry a little
- Add the puffed rice little by little into the Kadai stirring slowly so that it does not stick to the bottom.Add the Powdered Channa Dal and stir again
- Add the copped Coriander leaves and turn off the stove.Puffed Rice Upma is ready to eat.
